DAMBUZA RESIDENCE
The project involves renovation work to an existing house, where the client required an increase in floor area. The client requested a space that would reflect a flow of landscaping into the house, where the house could be completely opened to the landscaping and create for a relaxed environment. The living space, an area that our client would spend most of his time, became the focus. This space needed to be contemporary and open plan. We proposed an open plan living space in glazed boxes constructed from a lightweight steel structure cladded in timber. This contrasted the rest of the house, which was cladded in corrugated sheeting. We expressed the transition between these two clearly defined elements with glass. The living room opens up completely to an outdoor entertainment space that overlooks the pool. The pool looks out towards the fire pit which becomes a focal point in the landscaped garden.
